BEAUTY CAN BE SEEN IN A MAN's BODY.
The Queen City
The City of Cebu (Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Sugbo; Filipino: Lungsod ng Cebu; Spanish: Ciudad de Cebú), is the capital city of Cebu in the Philippines, and is the second most significant metropolitan center in the Philippine Islands. There are a lot of pride that Cebu can bring and be recognized by not just other islands but to the whole world. Cebu is just one of the islands in the Philipiines who has a lot of transwoman. It just proved how strong these people are who belong to the group for they are not afraid of denying themselves to the public. The Queen of Cebu ( A Pageant of Alternatives) gave us an idea on how beauty can be expressed with sincerity. The main target of the event is to showcase the uniqueness of every transwoman out there. Human as we are, we tend to seek appreciation, but some of us may not have it because of discriminations.
From 2010-2013: These ladies was being crowned as the most beautiful transwoman in CEBU.
These 3 lovely ladies were once a gentlemen before.
(L-R) Rain Villagonzalo, Maki Eve Mercedes, Bee Urgello.
Being a transwoman wasn't that easy for them but look at them now, they were able to conquer all the discriminations without stepping on other's feelings.According to Vanity Kintanar, the Queen of Cebu 2012 “Transwomen are special women, there is no need to compete with genetic women for whatever reason. This isn’t about equality. Transwomen will never be 100% the same as genetic women, you cannot compare. We do not have to join beauty pageants for genetic women just to prove that we are equal.”
CHAIR: QUEEN OF CEBU
CARY SANTIAGO
Queen is the brainchild of the Clothes for Life Foundation, an organization mostly composed of fashion designers who are Cebu-based. Its current chair is Cary Santiago, one of Cebu's most prominent people. Cary is a world-known couturier whose clientele includes the creme de la creme of the Philippines. I chatted with him post-pageant and had our pic taken as well (see above). Cary told us of his plans for Queen to be a platform to help needy communities in Cebu. I was quite impressed with his vision for Queen to be a pageant that will showcase the best of Cebu and benefit the poorest of the poor. After having met Cary, I have now become a firm believer in the aspirations of Clothes for Life and Queen. If I am ever in a position to help, I would easily choose Clothes for Life foundation as my charitable institution of choice.
thank you for inspiring all of the beauty enthusiast... nice blog
